As a Catchup member, how do I connect my calendar?

You can only connect your Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook if the Catchup owner has enabled it for your Catchup.

Option 1: Connect via Intro Message

  • Once the catchup bot has matched you with another member, click on Get started next to Schedule with Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook.
  • Select Connect Google Calendar or Connect Microsoft Outlook
    • You might only see one of the two options if only one option has been enabled for your workspace.
  • Choose an account and click Continue.
  • If not already done so, you can now close the Connect Calendar modal in Slack.

Option 2: Connect via Catchup Home Tab

  • Navigate to the Catchup Home tab in your workspace.
  • Click on Connect Calendar (you can only see this button if you are in at least 1 Catchup with the calendar integration enabled).
  • Select Connect Google Calendar or Connect Microsoft Outlook
    • You might only see one of the two options if only one option has been enabled for your workspace.
  • Choose an account and click Continue.
  • If not already done so, you can now close the Connect Calendar modal in Slack.

Schedule

  • In the intro message, click on Schedule next to Schedule with Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook (you can see this button if everyone in your group has connected their calendar).
  • Select a date and time.
    • You will only see times that are available between 9am and 5pm in everyone's timezone.
    • You will only see times where everyone is available according to their primary calendar.
  • Confirm the selected date and time via the Schedule button in the modal.
  • The catchup bot will send a calendar invite to the other person(s) in your group.
    • Google Calendar recently added a new policy for users to help combat spam. This new policy impacts all scheduling tools, including catchup.
    • If you haven't interacted with the other person(s) in your group before, you might have to click Add to calendar or I know the sender on the event invitation to ensure the event is added to your Google Calendar.
    • You can change this setting in your Google Calendar account according to https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37135.
