As a Catchup member, how do I connect my calendar?
You can only connect your Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook if the Catchup owner has enabled it for your Catchup.
Option 1: Connect via Intro Message
- Once the catchup bot has matched you with another member, click on Get started next to Schedule with Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook.
- Select Connect Google Calendar or Connect Microsoft Outlook
- You might only see one of the two options if only one option has been enabled for your workspace.
- Choose an account and click Continue.
- If not already done so, you can now close the Connect Calendar modal in Slack.
Option 2: Connect via Catchup Home Tab
- Navigate to the Catchup Home tab in your workspace.
- Click on Connect Calendar (you can only see this button if you are in at least 1 Catchup with the calendar integration enabled).
- Select Connect Google Calendar or Connect Microsoft Outlook
- You might only see one of the two options if only one option has been enabled for your workspace.
- Choose an account and click Continue.
- If not already done so, you can now close the Connect Calendar modal in Slack.
Schedule
- In the intro message, click on Schedule next to Schedule with Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook (you can see this button if everyone in your group has connected their calendar).
- Select a date and time.
- You will only see times that are available between 9am and 5pm in everyone's timezone.
- You will only see times where everyone is available according to their primary calendar.
- Confirm the selected date and time via the Schedule button in the modal.
- The catchup bot will send a calendar invite to the other person(s) in your group.
- Google Calendar recently added a new policy for users to help combat spam. This new policy impacts all scheduling tools, including catchup.
- If you haven't interacted with the other person(s) in your group before, you might have to click Add to calendar or I know the sender on the event invitation to ensure the event is added to your Google Calendar.
- You can change this setting in your Google Calendar account according to https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37135.
Manage
- Navigate to the Catchup Home tab in your workspace.
- Click on Calendar Settings.
- Here you can see the connected Google Calendar account / connected Microsoft Outlook account.
- To unlink your Google Calendar account, click on Disconnect next to Google Calendar.
- To unlink your Microsoft Outlook account, click on Disconnect next to Microsoft Outlook.
